What are the eligibility criteria for a sound recording?

Eligible recordings are phonograms first fixed within the European Union whose term of protection has not expired.

In addition, during the same year, a minimum number of copies must have been pressed and sold in France:

  • 1,500 copies for the variety genre
  • 500 copies for other genres (classical, jazz)
